This is one of our favourite bush walking trails and we believe a must see for any visitors to the Otways.
Its an easy 15 minute drive from your Otway Escapes accommodation to the lake, picnic and camping area.
Tucked away in the Otways not far from Forrest, Lake Elizabeth is a beautiful mountain lake. There is a free camping ground and walking trails. The Trail is a 2km shared path, and allows cyclists to ride from Forrest all the way to Lake Elizabeth.
Created more than 50 years ago but record rainfall that sent thousands of tonnes of rock and earth into the East Barwon River, creating a dam that went on to form the lake.
Lake Elizabeth is now the home and habitat for wild Platypus, and other wildlife. Perfect for canoeing and Platypus spotting.
