Dinny Goonan Wines mission is to produce wines of exceptional quality, with a focus on Riesling and Shiraz.

The first vines were planted in 1989 and 1990 in the Nursery Block, a little less than 2 acres in area. Its function was as a trial block with ten varieties planted. Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc were planted as the potential red varieties and Riesling, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay as the potential white varieties.

Without doubt this is one of the best local Restaurants.

The Restaurant at The Old Lorne Grove Olives farm is one of our favorites for a leisurely lunch.

It is perfectly situated in the foothills of the Otway ranges, just 20 minutes from Lorne. Come and enjoy the beautiful scenery and a unique, relaxed atmosphere.

The Old Lorne Grove Olives cafe and art gallery is nestled amongst the groves with 1300 olive trees. The serene location provides a beautiful afternoon of wine, great food and breathtaking views of the rolling hills of Deans Marsh and surrounds.

Otway Estate Winery & Brewery produces a liquid to quench any thirst. From boutique Australian wines, hand crafted beer and cider to a vast selection of delicious cordials. Each beverage is produced on site using natural local products – Estate grown wine grapes, local fruit and berries, or pure Otway rainwater.

This is a highly recommended venue for a meal, coffee or to sample some hand brewed, original local Australian Boutique Beers.

The brewery is located in the centre of Forrest in a historic weather board building. The ambiance is is very welcoming and give you the opportunity to meet the locals and visiting cyclists.

The food selection is of a high quality, generally using seasonal, local produce.

Blakes Estate is located in Deans Marsh, approximately 3kms from the Otway Escapes luxury holiday houses.

Roger and Rosie Blake established the vineyard and are wonderful hosts, and very passionate about their wine producing.

Blakes Estate is nestled in the foothills of the Otway Ranges in Western Victoria.

The winery is situated only 16 km from the coast near the town of Lorne and the Great Ocean Road.

Martians Bar, is a must visit for anyone staying in the Deans Marsh area of The Otways.

You can dine, have a coffee and relax with the eclectic visiting live musicians. Martians has become a live music icon, and is a popular location for many popular musicians and bands. Upon arrival scan the walls and you will see who has passed through the premises.

Weekends are popular with cyclists and motorcyclist who enjoy the meandering hills and valleys of The Otways.

Located only minutes away from your accommodation at Otway Escapes self contained cottages, Gosling Creek Vineyard offers a picturesque winery that is located on the Northern slopes of the Otway Ranges.

They produce the following varieties of wines Riesling, Rose, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Sparkling Shiraz and Dolce. Many of these Australian wines are served in the local Great Ocean Road restaurants.

With a recently opened cafe providing a variety of seasonal meals, this business provides a wonderfully relaxing environment.

Farm Produce

The produce from this farm is totally organic. According to Mike and Katrine Juleff the vines are never sprayed and the plants are fertilized using organic product only.

This is a seasonal business and is only open during the Summer months. Usually first weekend in December to mid January.

They have a variety of berries available, being Raspberries, Brambleberries, Youngberries, Strawberries, Boysenberries, Marionberries. Jostaberries, Loganberries.

Gentle Annie Berry Gardens is a 10 acre working farm nestled in the picturesque Pennyroyal Valley. Gentle Annie has a huge variety of Pick Your Own, pesticide free, berry and orchard fruit available over a six months period each year.

Relax in the ambience of the licensed cafe with great coffee, scones and berry pies. Try the delicious home style meals. Gentle Annie's Produce Store offers a fine range farm-shop preserves.
