The Surf Coast includes the main towns of Torquay, Anglesea, Aireys Inlet (believed to be one of the Great Ocean Road’s greatest secrets), and Lorne. Lorne is the final stop along the Surf Coast and one of the more well-known and well-established coastal settlements within the Great Ocean Road region.
There are 8 different waterfalls situated inland of the Surf Coast, particularly impressive in winter. It’s worth checking out the other inland towns which provide a range of natural beauty such as views to the sea from Winchelsea; a distinct rural feel from Freshwater Creek, or sweeping bushland from Bambra.
Home to Rip Curl and Quiksilver, local sites of interest along the Surf Coast include the Surf World Museum in Torquay, and of course Bells Beach, (between Torquay and Anglesea) famous for its surf and surfing competitions.
