About Lorne Country Club

Six hour events are the most popular form of mountain bike racing in Australia. The Forrest 6 hour has grown to become one of the largest events on the calendar with over 400 riders. Competitors range from national champions in solo categories, through to weekend riders in teams of up to four. Climbing is kept to a minimum and both courses are easy to negotiate. And yes all is going well. We have new equipment, new clients and have retained our longstanding ones, some who have been with us for at least 10 years. Schools like Geelong Grammer, Xavier College, St Bernards, sporting clubs such as Collingwood and Richmond.

We have also retained our excellent staff, all who are fully qualified and very keen.

The Otway Harvest Trail is a celebration of the seasons that bestow their rich bounty on a luscious part of Victoria.

Hastings Ostrich Australia integrates Australia's leading ostrich breeding farm, industry consultancy services, production, manufacturing, wholesale and retail sales to export and local markets.

Hastings Ostrich Farms stud farm manages over 3000 birds of various ages and supplies other farms with stock both within Australia and internationally. Breeds include African Black, Australian Black, Zimbabwe Blue and Kenyan Red neck ostrich.

This property is a fine example of how the "Western District" farmer used to live.

The Homestead is original and truly a grand example of colonial Architecture.

You can purchase there four and eight ply Polwarth yarn. This is worsted spun and sold in approximately one hundred and fifty gram hanks

In the hills surrounding Forrest is a selection of challenging Mountain Bike Trails.

The tracks were generally the remnants of redundant narrow gauge rail tracks used to transport timber. These have been cleaned of debris and revitalized into a flourishing riding environment.

There are many competitive events for those who are interested, and also much social riding occurs.

Forrest hosts the KONA 24 Hour race, and the Otway Odyssey.
