The RACV Great Ocean & Otway Classic Ride is one of Australia's premier and most spectacular rides, attracting competitors from both Australia and from around the world.  The 145km ride features over 90km of road closures through the picturesque farmlands of the Otway ranges to Lorne and then back along the famous Great Ocean Road to Torquay.

The Lorne foreshore is the picturesque pedestal for dozens of sculptures created by some of Australia's top established and emerging sculptors.  The 2018 program will be devoted to the pressing global issue of nature and endangerment.


Old Beechy Rail Trail Run

Following disused rail lines, this run takes place in the beautiful Otway Forrest

Discover the beauty of the Otways on the Old Beechy Rail Trail with a 16Km Trail Run or a 3 x 5Km Relay, starting at 9:00am at Barongarook and finishing in the Rex Norman park at Gellibrand. There is also a 7Km Run/Walk starting at 10:00am from Kawarren which is the 8Km point of the Trail Run and Relay events

This event is a fund raising initiative of the Rotary Club of Colac with monies raised going to local community projects.

Mountain to Surf Run (Lorne)

The GMHBA Lorne Mountain to Surf is in its 34th year. The run is an 8km fun runstarting in Lorne and continuing through the forest and then along the Great Ocean Road and finishing at the Lorne Surf Life Saving Club. The next GMHBA Mountain to Surf will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 starting at 8:30am.

Every 2nd Sunday of the month from November to April, plus Easter Sunday.

Local produce including wine, cider, nuts, ice cream, cakes, slices and Ice Cream. Plants of all types plus special garden art.

Special market in March - Garden Harvest Market. A chance to swap and buy flowers, fruit and vegies and raise money for a local organization.

Music in the Rotunda from 10.30am to 1.30pm. Includes a community BBQ. All proceeds to the Birregurra Community.

Gellibrand River Blues and Blueberry Festival

The Festival starts on Friday night 24th February with a Community Blues Family Concert at the caravan park. The main Blues Music Events in on Saturday 25 February afternoon from 12 noon to 8pm at the Otway Tourist Park followed by a blues evening at the Gellibrand Hotel.

Sunday morning 26th February opens with Breakfast Blues at the Gellibrand River General Store and a produce and artisan Festival market at Rex Norman Park 9.30am to 2pm followed by a final Blues afternoon at Otways Estate.
